Aybuke on your Mac

The same AI photo editor and makeup app as on iPhone and iPad, in one window you can resize: a sidebar with every tool, a real menu bar with keyboard shortcuts, and photos you drag in straight from Finder.

Aybuke for Mac is the same Aybuke as on iPhone and iPad, on a bigger screen. Magic Edit, Makeup Studio, the one-tap looks, Create, the retro effects, collages and the video editor all work the way they do there. The Mac adds what you'd expect from a Mac app: a sidebar, a menu bar with keyboard shortcuts, and drag and drop.

A sidebar and a real menu bar

Aybuke opens in one window that you can make as big or as small as you like. The sidebar on the left holds Explore, Create, Edit and My Works, every tool from Retro Cam and Makeup Studio to Collage and Video, and your credit balance. Hide it with ⌃⌘S when you want more room; the editors always open across the whole window. Everything else is in the menu bar, with the shortcuts you already use:

ShortcutWhat it does
⌘NNew Creation: start an image from your words in Create
⌘OOpen Photo…: pick a photo from your Photos library to edit
⌥⌘OOpen Video…: pick a clip for the video editor
⌘SSave, in the editors
⌘WClose, in the editors
⌘Z ⇧⌘ZUndo and Redo
⌃⌘SShow or hide the sidebar
⌘1–⌘4Explore, Create, Edit and My Works
⌘,Settings

Need a hand? Help › Contact support is in the menu bar too, or see help & support.

Open and save your photos

Choose File › Open Photo… (⌘O) to pick a photo from your Photos library, or simply drag a photo file from Finder onto Aybuke's window to start editing it. When you're happy, Save (⌘S) puts it in Photos, just like on your iPhone. For a video, choose Open Video… (⌥⌘O).

Retro Cam with your Mac's camera

Retro Cam and Retro Booth use your Mac's camera: the built-in one or, on a Mac without one, a USB camera or your iPhone as a Continuity Camera. Pick an effect, frame your shot and press the Space bar to take the photo. If no camera is connected when you open Aybuke, Retro Cam and Retro Booth are hidden.

One Aybuke on all your devices

  • Pro follows your Apple Account. Subscribe once and Pro works on your iPhone, iPad and Mac wherever you use that Apple Account. If it doesn't show up, use Restore in Settings or on the paywall.
  • Credits follow your Aybuke account. They live in your account on our servers, so to use them on your Mac, sign in with Apple in Aybuke on both devices. Signing in is optional.

Plans, credits and prices are explained on our pricing page.

What's different on the Mac

  • No ads. Aybuke shows no ads on the Mac.
  • No Live Activity. The Live Activity you may know from iPhone isn't part of the Mac app.
  • The share menu instead of the Instagram Stories button. When you share, the Mac's share menu takes its place.

What you need

  • A Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
  • For Retro Cam: a built-in camera, a USB camera or Continuity Camera.
  • For Pro on every device: the same Apple Account.

Aybuke for Mac is coming to the App Store, like the iPhone and iPad app; it isn't available there yet. For early access, email hello@buaze.com.
