Lantern Night: red & gold lanterns. Lantern Night is the New Year's evening glow. Rows of glowing red-and-gold paper lanterns hang overhead, soft fireworks bloom in the night sky and a rich red-and-gold color grade warms the whole photo, with no writing on the lanterns. You keep your own outfit, or the AI may give you a modest festive outfit in red and gold. Your hair and anything you wear on your head stay exactly as they are, and so do your face, skin tone and natural skin texture. It's one of the two looks for Lunar New Year: Seollal in Korea and the Spring Festival in Chinese-speaking regions.

What you get

  • Rows of glowing red-and-gold paper lanterns

FAQ

Lantern Night questions

Can I try Lantern Night now?

Not yet: Lantern Night arrives with the next update of Aybuke. This page describes the look as it works in that version.

Is the Lantern Night look free?

Yes, on the free plan: Lantern Night uses 1 of the 2 free AI credits you get every day. Pro gives you 80 credits a month instead, plus our best-quality AI, every look, no watermark and no ads.

Will it still look like me?

That's the idea. The Lantern Night recipe tells the AI to keep your face, skin tone, body shape and expression as they are, and an on-device likeness check runs on the result. If it doesn't look like you, tap Retry free.

When is Lantern Night on Explore?

In South Korea, Chinese-speaking regions such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore and Malaysia, and anywhere for people using Aybuke in Simplified Chinese, for Lunar New Year: new Year's Eve to the fifth day (5–10 February 2027; 25–30 January 2028). Explore picks the holidays from your device's region, then your App Store country, then the app's language. Everywhere else, and the rest of the year, it's in Edit › Styles.

Will it change my outfit?

It keeps your own outfit, or may give you a modest festive outfit in red and gold. Your hair and anything you wear on your head stay exactly as they are. If you'd rather keep your outfit as it is, try Plum Blossom, which always keeps it.
