Papel Picado: paper banners & marigolds. Papel Picado is Día de Muertos in daylight. Rows of colorful cut-paper banners stretch across a sunny street, marigold garlands hang along brightly painted walls and the light on you is matched to the scene, with no readable writing. It's decorations only: your face stays exactly as it is, with no face paint. Your own outfit, your hair and anything you wear on your head stay as they are too, along with your skin tone and natural skin texture. It's the Pro look for Día de Muertos.

Is the Papel Picado look free?

Papel Picado is a Pro look. It's included with Aybuke Pro (80 AI credits a month, unused credits roll over up to 160); Pro Yearly comes with a 7-day free trial, with 20 credits, if you're eligible. Each look uses 1 credit, and failed edits are refunded.

Will it still look like me?

That's the idea. The Papel Picado recipe tells the AI to keep your face, skin tone, body shape and expression as they are, and an on-device likeness check runs on the result. If it doesn't look like you, tap Retry free.

When is Papel Picado on Explore?

In Mexico and the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America, for Día de Muertos: 31 October – 2 November. In Mexico it comes before Halloween on Explore; elsewhere in Latin America, right after it. Explore picks the holidays from your device's region, then your App Store country, then the app's language. Everywhere else, and the rest of the year, it's in Edit › Styles.

Does it add face paint?

No. Papel Picado is decorations only. Your face stays exactly as it is.
