Star Wishes: bamboo & paper wishes. Star Wishes is Tanabata, the star festival, when wishes written on paper go up on bamboo. Tall bamboo branches hang with colorful paper wish strips and streamers, the Milky Way stretches across a starry sky and soft lantern light falls on you, matched to the scene. The wishes carry no readable writing. Your own outfit, your hair and anything you wear on your head stay exactly as they are: a headscarf, a hat or a bow stays, and none is added. So do your face, skin tone and natural skin texture. It's one of the two looks for Tanabata.

What you get

  • Tall bamboo with colorful paper wish strips
  • Paper streamers in summer colors
  • The Milky Way in a starry sky
  • Soft lantern light

FAQ

Star Wishes questions

Can I try Star Wishes now?

Not yet: Star Wishes arrives with the next update of Aybuke. This page describes the look as it works in that version.

Is the Star Wishes look free?

Yes, on the free plan: Star Wishes uses 1 of the 2 free AI credits you get every day. Pro gives you 80 credits a month instead, plus our best-quality AI, every look, no watermark and no ads.

Will it still look like me?

That's the idea. The Star Wishes recipe tells the AI to keep your face, skin tone, body shape and expression as they are, and an on-device likeness check runs on the result. If it doesn't look like you, tap Retry free.

When is Star Wishes on Explore?

In Japan, for Tanabata: 1 – 7 July. Explore picks the holidays from your device's region, then your App Store country, then the app's language. Everywhere else, and the rest of the year, it's in Edit › Styles.

Can I write my own wish on the paper strips?

The look keeps the wishes free of readable writing. To add your own words, use Text & Stickers after the look: it's free and runs on your device.
